Welcome to "The Bards' Tavern". This homepage is dedicated to the Official Blind Guardian Mailing List & IRC Channel. The mailing list started to exist in 1996 while the chat room (called "#Tavern") was created back in June 1997 (approximately, exact date unknown). First it was created by members of the Blind Guardian mailing list. Nemo created the chat room on a small IRC network, but soon the channel was forced to move onto another network. This new network was WorldIRC, where #Tavern is still located. The #Tavern soon became one of the most visited channels on WorldIRC, not only by members of the Blind Guardian Mailing List anymore.

The #Tavern became a meeting place of Heavy Metal lovers in general, but you will find people listening to other music styles there as well. Sometimes famous heavy metal musicians were inivited to chat with their fans in #Tavern, which hopefully won't change in the future. Even the members of Blind Guardian themselves used the #Tavern to communicate with their fans, and at least two of them became rather addicted to it ;-) So maybe you can meet them in #Tavern sometimes...

Within this homepage you will find information about the mailing list and about the chat channel, e.g. how to connect to the #Tavern and a list of the chatters who visit the #Tavern sometimes.
